Your kingdom come (Matthew 6:9-15)
"Your kingdom come"
Threads its way
Through long ages
From a Palestinian hillside
Prayed first
By a group of people
Who did not believe
That they could change the world.
And now
The prayer still threads its way
Through dirty streets
And destitute slums
And broken lives,
Prayed by a people
Still unsure
That they can change the world,
But knowing it was
Taught them by a King
Who even then knew heaven
In His heart.
