“It’s too easy to reach quickly for the hope and the promise of resurrection, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Resurrection is not a natural act, it is not the expected end of a difficult story, that is signposted all the way. Resurrection comes exactly when it can’t, when there is no hope, and when abandonment is complete.”
