Thursday, a meal and a dark place

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

On Thursday, they met for a meal.

And Judas left.

After he received the bread he went out. And it was dark.

Judas walked and Jesus knew why. And he just let him go.

Just let he let the rich ruler walk away, when he couldn’t let go of his wealth.

Just like he let the crowds go “when the words were too hard”

Just like when he let Peter deny him.

Jesus really doesn’t seem to be into compulsion, control or managing situations. He lets people go. He lets people argue with him. He lets people take their own decisions.

I’m not sure how comfortable I am with that. I would rather he took control and sorted everything – including me – out.

And when do I control and compel – or at least, try to?

When do I know the need to make others do what I have decide?

When do I, though my need to manage things, get in the way of what God is doing….?
