On Friday, he died.
He died with words of loss and words of promise and forgiveness.
And we are left wondering how to fit all those together.
So often our words are of control and denial and anger.
Our words refuse to recognise loss and deny it, insist that we can make the world the way we want it.
Our words, in the face of other's suffering or loss are too often to make ourselves comfortable in the face of pain we cannot control; words to protect ourselves, even if others pay the cost.
Our words when others injure us are of anger, fear and violence.
On Friday, he died, acknowledging loss, offering hope, praying for their forgiveness.
This is love...
