Mary stood weeping outside the tomb
They were talking nonsense about him not being there. She knew he was in the tomb, because she had seen him put there herself.
And now they said his body wasn't there, and she didn't know what to do.
And when the gardener came and started asking stupid questions....
Then suddenly, it wasn't the gardener at all, but there he was.
It was all she could do to stop herself from hanging on to him, in case he disappeared again.
In fact, she could only let him go because he detached himself.
How often do I try to keep Jesus where I can see him, control him, keep him to myself?
And how gently he tells me that it's not all about me (again). The centre is not me, not my desire, not my decision.
It is his.
